We are pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah Phibbs as the new Director of Research4Life Publisher Partnerships. Sarah succeeds Andrea Powell at STM, who retired in July.

Before joining STM, Sarah was Vice President of Wiley’s STM Society Publishing, and she brings years of experience as a consultant for societies and publishers focusing on sustainable publishing, strategy, and innovation. Sarah comes to the role already having close experience with Research4Life. She has previously served on the Committee reviewing the Feasibility Study for Friends of Research4Life and recently facilitated the development of Research4Life’s new Strategic Plan and Theory of Change.

Sarah said,

“I’ve loved facilitating such a committed group to design Research4Life’s Strategic Plan and Theory of Change. Joining STM gives me the opportunity to build on Andrea’s fantastic work and begin transforming Research4Life’s role from one way donation to enabling reciprocal, diverse and rich scholarly exchange.

Collaboration across user and publishing communities offers potential for a strong publisher legacy for Research4Life in the UN SDGs, contributing to genuinely equitable open scholarship,”

Congratulations and welcome, Sarah!
