In February 2019, the AGORA team delivered an online course called Fundamentals of Information Literacy and Access to Global Online Research in Agriculture, AGORA Online Course in short, for over 1,400 people from 68 countries in 3 languages (English, French and Spanish).

This MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) aims to deliver knowledge about the fundamentals of information literacy competencies and helps to develop the necessary skills to access and effectively use AGORA. AGORA is a collection of up to 13,700 key journals and 26,900 e-books in the fields of food, agriculture, environmental science and related social sciences. Access to AGORA is, offered to more than 3,400 institutions in more than 115 eligible countries (Group A and Group B). It is one of the five programmes that form Research4Life: AGORAHinariOAREARDI and GOALI.

There has been a high demand for the course and we are pleased to receive feedback from the participants who found the programme very educative and immediately applicable in their research and work.

The course has helped me develop better skills in searching for and retrieving research data hence I recommend it without any reservations.
