Webinar: Get recognition for your research with ORCID

Published: jeudi 1st avril 2021
Category: News

Join our two-part training and discover how researchers can use ORCID to get visibility for all of their work, from publications to grants. The webinars will take place on 14 and 21 April 2021.

Researchers spend a lot of time on getting published, but also on carrying out peer review, requesting grants and positions in journal editorial boards, for example. So how can you make sure that your work is recognized, and that it sets you apart from other researchers? ORCID provides a unique persistent identifier that you can connect to your professional information — affiliations, grants, publications, peer review and more. It distinguishes you from every other researcher across disciplines, borders, and time.

You can use your iD to share your information with other systems, ensuring you get recognition for all your contributions, saving you time and hassle, and reducing the risk of errors.

Join us on 14 and 21 April 14 2021 for a series of webinars that will teach you all you need to know about ORCID, how to maintain your iD and use it to improve the discoverability and recognition of your research.

The trainers will be Gabriela Mejias, Engagement Manager, and Nabil Ksibi, Engagement Lead, from ORCID.

Webinar 1: Improve discoverability and recognition for your research activities with ORCID

14 April, 08:00 am EST / 14:00 SAST

Persistent Identifiers (PIDs) are foundational components of research infrastructure. This session will offer an introduction to PIDs and how they enable trustworthy and transparent connections between researchers, their contributions and institutions. Researchers can use ORCID iDs to be uniquely identified and connected to their activities and contributions. Join this webinar to learn how to increase discoverability and recognition for your research with ORCID. There will be plenty of time for Q&A and we are looking forward to an interactive session and animated discussion.

Webinar 2: Getting recognition for your peer review activities with ORCID

21 April, 8:00-9:00 am EST / 2:00-3:00 pm SAST

Peer review is a fundamental part of the research lifecycle. Using your ORCID iD to enable connections with the organizations for which you perform reviews raises the visibility of your efforts and contributions.
